Dear Parents :

Our American Tall Tales assembly was very exciting. We had visits from Johnny Appleseed, Annie Christmas, Mike Fink, and Davey Crockett. What energy our 2 performers possess!

Our Zoomobile visit was very exciting. We were visited by Blue the Blue feigning lizard, Tank the hedgehog, and Tacal the spectacled owl, and Nubia the spiny tailed lizard. What a great show! Our thanks to The Phoenix Zoo and Freeport McMoran for making this program possible.

Due to the snow day we had in January, we will be in school on Monday April 5th. April 5th is the Monday after Easter that was originally scheduled as a day off. Thanks for your understanding.

What a fantastic time everyone had skiing and sledding last Wednesday. A special thanks to Maureen West, Tricia Barnes, Debbie Fogle, Gail Lee, Jean Beaubriand, Tim Timmins, Laura McCargish, Paula Henrie, Ellen Hansing, Julie Brady, Gay Aguirre-White, Tom White, Judy Cox, Cynthia Lavender, Tracey Coffeen, Shelli Biggs, Karen OBrien, Phyllis Moya, and Dave Sgambelluri. You made this a wonderful experience for all of our students. I think we have several students who will be skiing often in the future.

Congratulations to Tristin on her performance at the County Spelling on February 17th in St. Johns. Way to go Tristin!

Brett E. won our school wide Geography Bee competition. Way to go Brett! Brett has now taken an exam to determine if he will advance to the State round. Good Luck, Brett!

Colin T. is our 2nd quarter BEAR PRIDE winner. His caring and respect qualified him as a candidate. Congratulations, Colin!

Remember that our Science Fair judging is Wednesday May 12 and Thusday May 13. Our Science Fair evening for the community will be on Thursday May 13 at 6pm .

If you were unable to attend our Science Fair question and answer session with Mr. White in February, a DVD is available for you to check out and view. Please contact the school.

A special thanks to Chuck Corey, Mr. Fox, Tim Timmins, and Mike D'Oca for making our Veteran's program successful and very meaningful. Thank you for your service.

Our daily starting time is 8:05AM. Our school day ends at 3:05PM.

If you arrive late to school with your child, please come in and sign the student in. There is a sign in and sign out sheet in the office. Thank you!

Please be aware that 25mph is the posted speed on on our School Road (#2311). Please keep our students safe.

If you have questions or ideas, please don't hesitate to call or stop by your school.

Mr. Cox

Would you be interested in contributing towards an Arizona State Tax Credit??

In 2007, Arizona taxpayers are allowed to receive a tax credit of $400 for married couples filing a joint return, and $200 for single or head of household filers. This credit is for payment of fees in support of extra curricular activities at an Arizona school of their choice. This credit may be used to reduce state tax liability to Zero and any unused amounts may be carried forward for not more than 5 consecutive taxable years.

If you are interested, please contact Linda Fite at the Alpine Elementary School Office or call 928-339-4570
