Dear Parent/Guardian,

AIMS testing has been completed for this year. In celebration for our students academic work an AIMS appreciation luncheon was held for Alpine Elementary on April 22nd. We would like to thank all of our parent volunteers and staff that made the lunch a great success.

Our new Social Studies program was adopted at our April board meeting. Harcourt will be our program kindergarten through 6th grade and Holt will be our Social Studies program for 7th and 8th.

Our 2nd quarter Honor Roll students are: Katy Anderson, Willis Archibald II, Janey Greer, Talee Jo Harper, and China Wadlington in Mr. White's class. In Mrs. Coffeen's class Riley Greer, Timothy Henre, and Jobe Harper did a great job. Brandon Greer, Miciah Beard, and Karlee Coffeen were recognized in Mrs. Lavender's classroom.

Janey Greer was our 3rd quarter Bear Pride award winner demonstrating Care and Respect for a teacher. Nice job, Janey! Our next drawing will be at the end of the 4th quarter.

Our Alpine Track and Field team will be participating at McNary  Friday May 8th at 10am. This will be our last athletic event of the school year.

Thanks to Heidi Beaubriand, Franz Tomlinson, and Scott McMillan for judging our Science Fair competition. We had a great evening as parents and guests viewed the experiments of our Alpine students. Thank you for your support.

On Wednesday May 13th, Alpine Elementary will be presenting our Spring music program in combination with our initial Literacy evening. The program begins at 6pm in the gymnasium.

Thursday May 21st is our school's swimming and picnic party. This years event will be in Show Low at the Aquatics center. We encourage you to attend but unfortunately there will not be room on the bus. If you would consider carpooling, that would be appreciated.

Teacher Appreciation is the week of May 4th. Mrs. Beaubriand provided a special lunch on Wednesday May 6th. Thank you from all of us at Alpine Elementary.

Remember, if you have questions or ideas, please don't hesitate to call or stop by your school.

Would you be interested in contributing towards an Arizona State Tax Credit??

In 2007, Arizona taxpayers are allowed to receive a tax credit of $400 for married couples filing a joint return, and $200 for single or head of household filers. This credit is for payment of fees in support of extra curricular activities at an Arizona school of their choice. This credit may be used to reduce state tax liability to Zero and any unused amounts may be carried forward for not more than 5 consecutive taxable years.
