Dear Parent/Guardian,

I hope that everyone is having a great Summer, time certainly is flying. We are well into our plans for next school year.

Here are some important upcoming dates. From 8AM until noon on July 14th - 16th, we will be registering new students to Alpine Elementary. Also, remember that our first day of school is Wednesday July 30th at 8:05AM. If you need another 2008-09 school calendar, please give us a call or stop by the office.

Your assistance is needed in locating those children with physical, mental, or emotional handicaps. Alpine Elementary School Child Find will assist families in identifying services and resources for children below the age of five. This also applies to registered Home School students in the Alpine District. For information, call Alpine Elementary School at 339-4570.

SCIENCE CURRICULUM ADOPTION

Alpine School has implemented the FOSS science program for the Kindergarten thru 6th Grade levels, and the HOLT science program for Grades 7 and 8.

Both curricula are aligned to the Arizona State Standards.

Students in Grades 4 and 8 will be the first to be tested with AIMS to the standards. Additional grades will test in future years.

Would you be interested in contributing towards an Arizona State Tax Credit??

In 2007, Arizona taxpayers are allowed to receive a tax credit of $400 for married couples filing a joint return, and $200 for single or head of household filers. This credit is for payment of fees in support of extra curricular activities at an Arizona school of their choice. This credit may be used to reduce state tax liability to Zero and any unused amounts may be carried forward for not more than 5 consecutive taxable years.

School Programs

Box Tops for Education - Remove the boxtop from General Mills products. Place in collection boxes in school.

Recycling grocery bags - we collect the bags to be recycled through Wal-Mart.
